We are proud to mark the one-year anniversary of our partnership with Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation. Over the past year, it has been an incredible journey working alongside such a dedicated charity. Our collaboration has allowed us to make a real impact in the fight against lung cancer, raising awareness, breaking down lung cancer stigma, as well as helping to provide travel insurance for those impacted by lung cancer and other medical conditions.
Our partnership reflects our commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by lung cancer. Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation have funded millions of pounds of essential lung cancer research, looking for ways to detect the disease earlier and save lives. They’re the leading lung cancer charity in the UK, dedicated to helping everyone impacted by lung cancer – from diagnosis, through treatment, and living with lung cancer, to end-of-life care. The Foundation’s work is invaluable in raising awareness, preventing future generations from getting lung cancer, and challenging misconceptions surrounding this illness. They do all of this to ensure that those diagnosed with lung cancer can live well for as long as possible.
More than 48,000 people are diagnosed with lung cancer in the UK each year, making it the second most common cancer in both men and women1. While lung cancer is treatable, early diagnosis is key, and together with Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation, we are also spreading this vital message. We are particularly proud of the work we’ve done with the Foundation on contributing to webinars which highlight real-life stories and the importance of awareness. A recent webinar on ‘Travelling with Cancer’ that our founder Fiona Macrae took part in can be watched below or if you have any questions about travelling with lung cancer, click here to complete a form on Roy Castles website.
In support of Lung Cancer Awareness Month, this November we will continue to stand with the Foundation in challenging the misconceptions surrounding lung cancer. The truth is, lung cancer doesn’t discriminate it affects people from all walks of life. We want to breakdown misconceptions surrounding lung cancer, work to stop the stigma that lung cancer only affects people who have smoked, and to spread the message that anyone can be at risk – whether due to genetic factors, environmental exposures, or other causes. If you have lungs, you can get lung cancer!
Thank you to everyone who has supported ours and Roy Castles Lung Cancer Foundation efforts over the past year. We look forward to many more years of collaboration, progress, and providing travel insurance to those impacted by lung cancer and other medical conditions. Together, we can make a difference. Lung cancer doesn’t discriminate, and by spreading awareness, we hope to empower people to seek early diagnosis and challenge outdated perceptions. #LungCancerAwareness
